    Among the engineering colleges started by TN Government, GCE/Slm is the best planned college in all respects like teaching staff sanctioned, non teaching staff recruited, campus size, water facility and the sequence of building activities. Probably the best Principal of GCE Slm was Prof NR Sithapathi its first Princial. He was rewarded with a punishment of extension of his probation!!!
